barrier cabinet

The barrier cabinet draws both structurally and conceptually

from the design principles of highway noise barriers.

Roadside barriers are designed to absorb and deflect sound while enduring extreme weather conditions and mechanical stress. Typically constructed from modular panels supported by robust metal frameworks, these barriers are engineered for on-site assembly and disassembly, offering flexibility in both installation and maintenance.

This work is part of 'highway systems',  a larger research in how principles of highway infrastructure can inform furniture design.
